Brockman Mining (Brockman) has engaged Engenium as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for their Maverick Project (Maverick), a new iron ore development in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Maverick is the first stage of Brockman’s development of a detrital iron ore operation at its flagship Marillana Project.  The Maverick product will be hauled by road trains via the Great Northern Highway to the Utah Point facility in Port Hedland for export.

Engenium is providing PMC services for Maverick, which has been separated into mining, processing, non-process infrastructure and general infrastructure components.

Maverick operation involves the mining of approximately 7Mtpa of detrital material to be processed through a dense media circuit system, producing approximately 2.5 to 3 Mtpa of high quality (61.5% Fe) iron ore fines.

The awarded works include the completion of the feasibility phase, early engineering development works, execution and construction delivery following FID approval.

Engenium has begun a competitive early contractor engagement (ECE) process for the processing plant and will award the successful proponent a Design & Construction contract.  Completion is expected to be in early 2018.

“We have worked with Brockman in the past and are happy to continue our relationship with the Brockman team once again,” commented Wayne Peel, Managing Director of Engenium.  “This PMC contract is exactly what Engenium was established over a decade ago to do, and that is to provide smart project delivery services.”
