Managing Director

Wayne is the Managing Director of Engenium and brings more than 20 years international experience in engineering projects, technology delivery and the corporate environment. He has a global perspective and a focus on delivering strategic value and solutions to our clients. Wayne remains “hands on” with all aspects of Engenium’s services and performance.

Wayne has a Bachelor of Engineering from Curtin University and is a member of Engineers Australia, AICD and the WA Mining Club. He is an avid golfer when given the opportunity and can be seen fishing on the river at odd hours of the night.

 
 
 

Chris Senior

Engineering Director

Chris is a part owner of Engenium, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in the engineering industry to his role of Engineering Director.

Chris leads the core multi-discipline engineering and design team, and champions Engenium’s vision of Smart Project Delivery. He is passionate about helping his team deliver better projects through intelligent 3D design tools and processes, and has a focus on driving innovation and change within the Australia-wide business.

Chris stays relevant in the industry as an Engineering Executive and Fellow Chartered Professional Engineer of The Institution of Engineers Australia in the Leadership and Management College, as well as being a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also has a Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical) and Bachelor of Commerce (Management) from University of WA.

 
 
 
 
 

Brian De Swardt

Project Director

Brian is Project Director within the Engenium business with 20 years experience in engineering and project management. He has been responsible for research, studies, master planning, design engineering, procurement and construction in the mining, oil and gas, industrial, building and local government fields. Besides leading teams for the delivery of projects for our client, Brian has also operated in both owner engineer and client roles to ensure successful delivery, outcomes and creation of shareholder value.

Brian has a Bachelor in Technology in Urban and Civil Engineering, as well as a National Diploma of Engineering (Civil). Brian is a recognised Project Construction Manager professional and member of the Project Management Institute.

 
 
 
 

David Sourbutts

Project Director

David is a Project Director within the Engenium business and has 20 years experience in project management and engineering in the mining, rail, processing and infrastructure industries. David has had a major role in overseeing the development of “start-up” explorers into successful miners, including the coordination of project delivery from the mine to port.

David has Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of Leadership WA, Member of AusIMM, Member of Engineers Australia and was recognised as one of WA’s top 40 business entrepreneurs with a 40 under 40 Award in 2013.

 
 
 

Heath Baker

Executive General Manager, New South Wales

Heath is Executive General Manager of Engenium in Newcastle, New South Wales. He has over 20 years of leadership experience spanning engineering, mining, construction, manufacturing, aviation, hydrocarbon and smelting industries.
 
Heath’s background includes Australian and international management roles in mine operations, construction and engineering companies with experience across multiple commodities including coal, iron ore, copper, chemicals, agriculture and petrochemicals.
 
Heath has a Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Engineering (Civil). He’s a passionate fly fisherman and relishes a fine beverage in remote and rural settings during his holidays.

 

 
 
 
 
 

Stephen Beamond

Executive General Manager, Queensland

Stephen is an accomplished executive with a proven domestic and international track record within the resources industry. He has over 25 years' experience encompassing consulting, engineering, construction and asset management in the minerals processing (alumina, coal, base and precious metals), materials handling, power generation, oil and gas, refining and supporting infrastructure sectors.
 
Stephen has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Queensland, is a member of the Australian Society of Cost Engineers and has been guest presenter at the University of Queensland Business School and Penn State University.
 
Stephen enjoys golf, wine appreciation and gardening.
