What is your role at Engenium and what does it involve on a day to day basis?
My priority is to look after our secondees located in our client’s offices and project sites around Western Australia. I am also responsible for the sourcing and selection of additional secondee support for our clients through our own internal network or through our agency partners.
What do you consider to be your areas of speciality and expertise?
I consider my areas of speciality and expertise to be my people management skills and my ability to find the right people for the right job.
What projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working across multiple projects seeking key talent for a number of our clients such as BHP, Rio Tinto, CBH Group and Fortescue Metals Group.
What do you enjoy about working at Engenium?
I enjoy the autonomous nature of my role and the support provided by my direct manager and the senior management team when needed.
What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?
Most of my career to date has been spent in the recruitment industry. Since moving away from agency recruitment and into more corporate recruitment roles, I’ve really enjoyed the collaborative and consultative nature of these types of roles. This has led me to really pursue further opportunities in this area which is what brought me to my role here at Engenium.
What do you love to do outside of your work life?
I love spending time with my family. Having a one year old daughter is keeping us on our toes at the moment. When I can I like to get out on the golf course as much as possible.
What makes you laugh?
The Office – both the UK and US versions. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve re-watched both of these TV series.
Who inspires you?
I’m continuously inspired by my family – particularly my wife. She has continued to balance raising our daughter and her own career without skipping a beat on either!
What is your favourite quote?
If you can laugh in the face of adversity, you are bullet proof.
